Big News for Miramar's Fire Rescue Department

Just this month, April, 2013, two great things happened for the City of Miramar Fire Rescue Department. As reported in the Sun Sentinel, the department's fire rating dropped from a 5 to a 3, with 1 being the best on a 1-10 scale. That drop should prompt homeowner's insurance rates to drop. I suggest that you call your insurance company and proactively let them know about this achievement.

Second, just last week the fire rescue department announced that Miramar Commissioners voted unanimously to accept the 2012 Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) Grant for 12 new Firefighter positions. They will be opening a new fire station with the nearly $2 million grant to serve central Miramar.

Keep up the great work!
