GREAT AMERICAN CLEANUP 2011
The Great American Cleanup® is coordinated locally by Keep Broward Beautiful. More than 9,000 volunteers joined the effort last spring for a cleaner, greener Broward! The Great American Cleanup is an annual event that runs locally March 1st through May 31st.
How You Can Get Involved
There are three ways you can participate in the Great American Cleanup 2011.
1. Adopt-A-Street groups can clean their designated street during March, April or May. (This cleanup will count toward the required four cleanups per year.)
2. Broward County School Groups can set a date during March, April or May to clean up or green up around school grounds, in a local park, or in a community.
3. Volunteer at one of our scheduled Great American Cleanup 2011 events.
Marine Industries Association of South Florida's 34th Annual Waterway Cleanup, Saturday, March 5, 2011 from 9 am until 1 pm. Visit their website for information on volunteering, sponsoring, finding out about the cleanup sites, and much more information. I didn't see any locations in Miramar, though the lists may not be complete. We have lots of canals in our city for sure.
